Phew, after the race in Elmshorn being cancelled because of the storm, my double race weekend on the interstate became a single race weekend. Maybe it was better, because I wasn´t to exercise right because of a cold. So, I one more day to recover and to clean my bike, no one of my favourite´s and one day less to strain my body.
After a short trip to Allhornsee/ Volksdorf, I inspected the course looked quite simple, but it started to rain and everything changed, even also of the races started before our race.
It was a mixture of solid ground for the speed and some forest ground for the technical part. I decided myself for the MTB to start with, but also I put my CC-bike in the paddock.
Well, soon after the start still in the first round, I was able to get rid of the rest of the field, together with my fearest enemy in the overall ranking and we fought our way. But soon in the 2nd round I remarked, that something was wrong. It was my derailleur, who didn´t work properly. So, I tried my fortune with the big chain, which worked in the beginning, but soon my bike didn´t want the big, it changed to the middle chain.
Than I had to let go the other and rode to the paddock, where I rapidly changed on my CC-bike. Now, just hold the place just to defend the first place in the overall ranking. It worked and I finished on the 2nd place and was able to defend to jersey of the leading men.
The next race will be in Kiel, if not the storm will something do with it, like last time.
