Aspen the 2nd :-)

I know, quite late, but here it is, my bulletin of the Aspen Marathon in Nordhausen.

Like Michael already told you, I did the long distance as well over 2rounds with each 32,5km and 680m of altitude. The weather was all right and like Michael, I just know the course by paper. Sadly, I slept to long that day and because of that I didn’t have that much breakfast as usual.

Nevertheless it was still enough time for the late register. I tried to fill up my carbo hydrate sources as much as possible. In the morning I´m very hungry.

But, while I was warming up, I felt that my legs weren´t the best today.

Just after the start, I felt something missing, like I couldn’t get enough air to breathe. Maybe the afterpains of Albstadt, of my early morning duty, or of the lack of sleep. I did´t train that much, so…but, well, anyhow…

I just can tell you good things about the course, obviously one of the most beautiful, I´ve ever seen.

Wonderful fast single trails, short but hard ascents in the wine hills and the well tempered people at the side of the course. All these things made my day a little bit better than it was.

After a breakdown of me, just 6 or 7km before the finish at the end of the 2nd round. I just ended up on the 16th place in my AG and 28th overall.

Michael didn’t got a better day with his torn chain.

Greetings (especially to Michael), because we haven’t even thought of a picture of both of us.
