This time, lots of Pirates made up their way to Bucholz i.d.Northeide, to participate at a MTB-Highlight of the North.
As usually, the guys of Bucholz made up a nice course, right thru their town forest, but this time, a little bit
shorter than the last years, but not easier. A constant up and down followed by right and left turns and lots of single trails .
I arrived early, to get to know the course and watch the others suffering. And also I became witness of a fantastic performance of the girls,
with a 1 place of Jule, 3 place of Beni and 4 place of Silke. Beni did a great job, even she just became a mother. Congratulations to you and Robbi KW. Than it was Daddy’s time to perform, at the senior race, together with Stephan. Robbi finished 9 and Stephan not last. But they had fun at least.
In the main men race, was no Pirate participating, but at the public race some more. Facing the heat, Chief Ron, and Heike( again in first row, how does he…?), Toddy, Arne and myself wanted to ride the course, while we got more than 30degrees and about 40 starters. I became better with every round. It was a huge field and everybody of us, had to fight his way to the front, besides Heiko, he was already there. I lost sweat and later blood, because when the announcer told, last round and that I was on the 8th place, I wanted to gain some places and were a little bit to confident of capacity and so, I crashed and gained instead of places, some bruises.
So, but at least I was able to defend the 8th place till the end of the race and in my AG30+, I ended up on the 5th place.
After all, it was a nice race Sunday. I wished their will be some more nice races like this one here in the northern part of Germany. At least there is the Lünerburger Heide trophy.
